Cape May: Award Winning Cape May Beach is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, boogie boarding & surfing. Life guards are on duty for your peace of mind. Beach tags are required. Daily, Weekly and Seasonal tags are available. 

North Caper May Bay is a free beach and pet-friendly. Life guards are not on duty. 

The Wildwoods: 5-miles of FREE beaches,  rated as “New Jersey’s Best Beaches,’ are the widest & cleanest beaches on the New Jersey Shore with plenty of room for all your favorite beach activities.

Is parking at the beach free?

Wildwood:

Free parking for the Wildwood NJ beach and boardwalk is available, West of New Jersey Ave. Wildwood also offers paid-for lots which provide a more security. Parking along the beach is meter parking only. 

 

Cape May: 

Parking meters are in effect May 1 to October 31, every day, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. 

Free parking is available at the Cape May Elementary School located at the intersection of Lafayette Street and  Madison Avenue Saturday and Sunday while school is in session and daily during the summer break till 11:00PM, there is to be NO OVERNIGHT PARKING.  

 

How far are you from the beach?

Beachcomber is located only 4 Miles From Historic Cape May Beaches & the Famous Doo Wop Wildwood Beaches. 

 

Cape May Directions:

Start out going southwest on Seashore Rd/County Hwy-626 for 0.60mi

Turn left onto Breakwater Rd/County Hwy-613. for 0.11mi

Turn right onto Route 9, 2.41mi 

Stay straight to go onto Lafayette St .08 mi

Turn left onto Madison Ave to Beach Ave.

From Here You can Choose Any Street to Enjoy the Cape May Beach! 

 

Wildwood Directions:

Start out going northeast on Seashore Rd/County Hwy-626, 0.95 mi

Turn right onto Route 47 S/NJ-47. Continue to follow NJ-47. 3.83

Dogs are allowed on all beaches from October to May, but are not allowed on the Boardwalk at any time. Dogs must be on a leash and owner must pick up and dispose of droppings. 

Can you bird watch in Cape May?

Cape May is considered North America’s greatest bird watching locations. More than 400 different species have been seen on the peninsula during the fall migration. This area is known for spectacular flights of peregrines, merlins, ospreys and sharp-shinned hawks.

Fall and spring are magical months to witness all manners of migratory birds, butterflies, dragonflies and bats occupying our airspace and using the diverse habitats in the Cape May area.

Don't forget to visit Beachcomber wildlife observation pavilion on our lake.

Where can I go crabbing with the kids?

Cape May National Wildlife Refuge. – Along the creeks in the marshlands on Ocean Drive between Cape May and Wildwood Crest.

Schellenger's Landing in Cape May Harbor. 

Leaming Avenue-Elmira Street bridge between West Cape May and Cape May.

Lakeview Docks, Wildwood Crest – Pier for fishing and crabbing off Park Blvd. open 7 am – 7 pm.
Charges a small fee for crabbing off the pier. Boat rentals also available.

Grassy Sound Marina Wildwood –  Fishing and Crabbing Pier. 13 Old N. Wildwood Blvd. Between North Wildwood & Stone Harbor off Ocean Drive. 

Public piers, jetties and beaches are great places to catch crabs. 

Can we bring our own water craft?

Kayaks, Paddle boards, Paddle Boats, and Non Motorized Boats maybe used on our lake while a Life Guard is on duty. These must be stored on your site when not in use.  A life jacket must be worn at all times. Motorized water craft is NOT permitted. 

North Cape May Bay is great to explore with your water craft with many local restaurants on the bay to refuel such as The Lobster House, Lucky Bones & Harbor View Restaurant.

Cape May: 1200 Route 109, Cape May behind Lucky Bones Restaurant. 

Wildwood Crest: New Jersey Avenue and Orchid Road, or Park Boulevard and Sweet Briar Road.

North Wildwood: 5th Avenue and the Bay. Parking and 2 ramps. 

Kayak Launching Area: Miami and New Jersey Avenues at Sunset Lake, Wildwood Crest. 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The Wildwoods have many restaurants along the water for you to enjoy. Two Mile Landing, Beach Creek Oyster Bar and Grill, Uries, Boat House Restaurant & The Wharf.

When is the boardwalk open?

Wildwood boardwalk usually opens Easter Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

Can we ride our Bikes on the boardwalk?

Bike on the beautiful Cape May Promenade. Enjoy 2 miles of ocean breeze & beautiful Victoria homes.   

Cyclists can enjoy a FREE scenic bike route that runs nearly the entire length of the 5-mile island, beginning at the Cape May National Wildlife Regufe in Wildwood Crest. The beach side bicycle path runs north, continuing on the world famous Wildwoods Boardwalk at Cresse Avenue via the bike ramp connector. The Boardwalk stretches 1.85 miles north to a connecting ramp between 15th and 16th Avenues in North Wildwood. From there, cyclists can continue along a path parallel to the beach along JFK Blvd. A special “bikes only” lane is also dedicated throughout the length of North Wildwood, from 1st to 26th Avenues along Surf Avenue. Bicycles are allowed on the Boardwalk from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m. only during weekdays and until 10:30 a.m. on weekends and holidays.

Off season: Bikes are aloud on the boardwalk at any time. 

You can also ride Cape May County's Famous Bike Path located across from Beachcomber's entrance. The path is around 8 miles long, running south from the Cape May County Park & Zoo to Spring, where the Cold Spring Bike Path begins.

Is your Lake Slide always open?

Our Lake Slide and Trampoline are open July & August when lifeguards are on duty. Our Lake is open Memorial day - Mid  June when life guards are on duty. 

Can I take my Camper on the Cape May Lewis Ferry?
